Cloud computing has seen a compounding growth since last one year with just Amazon Web Services generating $11.1 billion revenue in last four quarters. The believe in cloud computing is on a rise  both among SME’s and corporates.

Cloud computing currently has three broad models:-

  • Infrastructure as a Service
    IaaS is defined as providing access to computers (virtual or on dedicated hardware) , networking features and data store space.While sharing the infrastructure, it continues to provide the highest level of flexibility and management control over your IT resources and is almost similar to your existing IT resources.
    Ex: Amazon EC2
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS):
    Platforms as a service allows organizations to manage underlying infrastructure with zero focus on software maintainence, patching or any other heavy maintainence requirements. It no longer allows you to get distracted towards procurement or capacity planning.
    Ex: Magento Enterprise Cloud Edition
  • Software as a Service (SaaS)
    SaaS provides you a complete product managed by its provider with zero expenditure in infrastructure cost. It helps a team to focus on what matters the most and minimizes distraction.
    Ex: Convertifier
