You just don’t need to guess! Yes! There are various benefits of AWS which we would be discussing further in this article but the biggest advantage which I feel is that when you host your application or website on Amazon web services, then you just need not do guesswork about the amount of traffic which would be coming on the platform. We would go into detail about the benefits but first, let’s have a look at the Amazon web services and its products.
What is AWS?
Amazon web services is the cloud computing platform by Amazon.com. AWS as a service aims towards providing large computing capacity more quickly and in an affordable way. The AWS services operate from 12 geographical regions: US West (Oregon, California), AWS GovCloud, US East (Virginia), South America (Sao Paulo), EU (Dublin, Frankfurt), Asia Pacific (Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo) and China (Beijing). The two most well-known services are Amazon elastic compute cloud (EC2) and Amazon simple storage service (S3).
Products of AWS
The product range of Amazon web services is very broad. Some of them are listed below:
1. For Computational Purpose
Amazon elastic compute cloud (EC2): As the word elastic suggests, EC2 is designed to help developers and business owners scale their business as and when required. Amazon EC2 has been designed in such a way that it provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It allows its users to quickly scale capacity, both up and down as the computing requirements change. This makes AWS very cost-effective for the e-commerce stores, high traffic websites, etc
Amazon elastic MapReduce (EMR): The EMR uses the hosted Hadoop framework and allows businesses, researchers, data analysts and developers to easily and cheaply process the big data.
Amazon Lambda (LAMBDA): Lambda provides the compute service that runs code in response to events and manages the resources needed to run the code.
2. For Networking Purpose
Amazon Route 53: It provides a highly available and scalable DNS web service.
Amazon Virtual Private cloud (VPC): The isolated set of Amazon EC2 instances are created by VPC which can be connected to an existing network using VPN connection.
Amazon Elastic Load Balancing (ELB): It balances the load by automatically distributing incoming traffic across multiple Amazon EC2 instances.
3. For Analytics
Amazon Machine Learning: As the name suggests, Amazon machine learning makes it easy for developers to use the machine learning technology.
Amazon Kinesis: It is a fully managed cloud-based service for real-time data processing over large distributed data streams.
There are much more services by AWS which make computing easy for its users.

Benefits of AWS
The products at AWS are great but the question remains same, why should we use it? What are the benefits of AWS for my business? So, if you have the same questions, check out the list below
1. Easy to Use
AWS allows you to easily host your new or existing applications. It is designed in such a way that the application providers, ISVs, and vendors can quickly and securely host their applications.
2. You need not guess here!
When you opt for other services, you need to pre-define how much will you actually need without any idea how much traffic would come to your application or website. This wastes the bandwidth when there are fewer users and slows down when the traffic increases above the estimated number. Amazon Web Services provide an elastic cloud computing infrastructure that can grow and shrink to meet your needs.
3. Flexible
At Amazon web services, you can select the operating system, programming language, a platform for the web application, database and many other services that you require. At AWS virtual environment you can load the software and services that your application will require.
4. Cost-effective
Another benefit of AWS is that you pay only for the computer power, storage and other resources that you use. There are no long-term contracts or up-front commitments.
5. High performance and scalability
Auto scaling, elastic load balancing, and other AWS tools enable your application to scale up and down based on the demand.
Conclusion
AWS is worth the use as it saves the time, is flexible, reliable, secure and cost-effective. It also comes with a 12-month free tier which you may try to check and understand the functionality.
